What do Warren Buffett, Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg and Oprah Winfrey have in common? They are all avid readers.
In fact, as all successful people will say, reading is an integral part of their daily lives. They have all read, at one time or another, a book that has left its mark on them.
We all know the benefits of reading for our brain: improved vocabulary and oral expression, development of memory and cognitive abilities, improved concentration, to name a few. Reading contributes to personal development and to our development as entrepreneurs. Of course, we must be selective in our reading choices. Intentional readings can greatly help us to be successful in our business.
Being an entrepreneur means learning continuously. We learn from our failures, from our trials and errors, but what better way to learn than from those who have been there before us. We can learn a lot from the success of other entrepreneurs, but even more from their failures. Nothing is more enriching and inspiring than the experience of others. No matter what field you are in, no matter what challenges you face, no matter what expertise you develop or tricks you acquire, the stories of other entrepreneurs teach you a lot.
There is certainly a book somewhere to help us in our business.
At BuroLoft, our self-service library is continually replenished to provide our members with inspiring reading that contributes to their personal and professional growth. Among the thirty or so titles in our library, here are some of them:
- Rework, a book that has become a classic in order to make entrepreneurs think differently.
- Predictably Irrational, which reflects the hidden focuses that form our decisions
- Reinventing Organizations, a book that invites us to rethink the way we manage businesses.
- Rich Dad, Poor Dad (the sequel) (Cash Flow Quadrant Guide to Financial Freedom), the sequel to Robert T. Kiyosaki’s best-selling book, which is guide on how to achieve financial freedom.
Enjoy your reading!
